Pat Summitt, head coach of the University of Tennessee womnen's basketball team, yells instructions to her players during the national championship game against the University of Connecticut at New Orleans Arena April 6, 2004. Summitt announced this week that she has been diagnosed with early on set dementia. She has been head coach at Tennessee since 1974. She is the winningest coach in NCAA basketball history and has won eight national championships. UConn defeated Tennessee for the 2004 national championship 71-60. In spite fo her diagnoisis, Summitt plans to continue to coach and has her sights set on her ninth championship.
