Gettridge has become something of a media darling, appearing on Anderson Cooer's show on CNN, and being interviewed by a host of newspapers and television stations. He is constantly receiving visitors and family members, such as his grandson, Desmond, who check up on him and make sure he has everything he needs. He is expecting his wife to finally return later this month.
