Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards and his wife Candy leave the U.S. Courthouse in Baton Rouge, Louisiana April 11th, 2000. Edwards was on trial for numerous counts of gambling corruption related to the licensing of riverboat casinos in Louisiana. He was convicted and after two years of appeals, reported Monday morning to a minimum security federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, to begin serving a ten-year sentance.
